Applications are invited up to 30th June, 2009 for the post of Scientist ‘E’ (Medical)

Pay Band-3 of Rs.15600-39100 + Rs. 8700 (Grade pay) at the National Jalma Institute for Leprosy & Other Mycobacterial Diseases, Agra

Qualification & Experience:

Essential:
(i) MBBS Degree recognized by MCI.

(ii) Ten years research experience in the relevant areas.

Desirable:

(i) MD in Medicine/Dermatology/PSM/Chest & TB Or related subject.

(ii) Additional Post doctoral research/teaching experience in relevant subjects.

(iii) Knowledge of Computer Application.

Job Requirements:
To plan, supervise and carry out clinical, therapeutic and field based research in tuberculosis, leprosy and related aspects to be carried at Instt./Model Rural Health Research Unit/satellite centres of Unit etc.

AGE:
Preferably below 50 years. Relaxable up to 5 years for Government servants in accordance with the instructions issued by the Department of Personnel and Training from time to time in this regard. SC/ST/OBC are also allowed relaxation as per Central Govt. Rules, in force.

Allowances as per Central Government Rules are admissible on the above pay scale, Benefit of new restructured defined Contributory Pension system are admissible as per the provision contained in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs (ECB & PR Division), Notification No. 5/7/2003-ECB & PR dated 22.12.2003 effective from 01.01.2004.

Private practice is not allowed, however, non-practicing allowances is admissible to medical graduates only as per rules. Candidates called for interview will be paid a 1st class rail fare by the shortest route on production of documents.

Applications from employees working in Central/State Govt. Department Public Sector Undertaking and Govt. funded research agencies must be forwarded through proper channel.

Forms duly completed in all respects should be sent on the same address along with attested copies of the certificates in support of date of birth, educational qualification, experience etc. on or before the last date along with a crossed Indian Postal Order (IPO) for Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred Only) payable to the Director General, ICMR, New Delhi . SC/ST & physically handicapped candidates are exempted from this payment. Incomplete/late applications or without postal orders will not be entertained.
