Participates in all phases of development starting with a conceptual model through functional and detailed design to implementation, debugging and deployment of the software solution.
Understands the software vendors' direction and plans and make recommendations for Stream based on that understanding.
Conducts or leads the development of functional specifications, coding, and documentation.
Works directly with systems analysts and systems programmers on application technical problem identification and resolution.
Develops project plans for assigned projects.
Creates functional and design specifications from user requirements.
Develops new software applications using current programming languages and tools.
Participates in the definition of application architecture.
Designs and builds prototypes.
Provides input to scope and duration of projects. Monitors project progress and documents and reports status to IT and user management.
Follows functional and design specifications to ensure that all components of the technical architecture are properly integrated and implemented.
Identifies and resolves functional and design issues.
Prepares deployment and post deployment plans to support the conversion and deployment of the solution.
Performs or supervises system testing effort and crafts test tools as needed.
Provides user documentation, which identifies implemented features, method of installing and accessing changes.
Provides project progress reports and documentation to IT management.
Attends technical training courses and seminars to develop technical, analytical and business skills.
REQUIREMENTS:
Requires three to five years' business system development experience.
Demonstrated advanced technical abilities.
Must have experience with Oracle applications (HR and Finance) and related development tools or with Kronos Workforce Central.
Development skills with Oracle relational databases required.
Strong knowledge of PL/SQL and UNIX scripting required. Knowledge of Oracle Reports and Oracle Forms strongly recommended.
Knowledge of Crystal, Discoverer, Noetix Views or Business Objects helpful.
Previous experience using a software development methodology or structured system development life cycle highly desired.
Requires Bachelors of Science degree or equivalent experience.
