The 2009 ICC Champions Trophy is a One Day International cricket tournament being held in South Africa between 22 September and 5 October at Wanderers Stadium and Centurion Park, both in the Johannesburg area. It was previously known as the ICC Knock-out. Two teams from two groups of four will form the semi-finals, with the final to be staged in Centurion on 5 October. The popularity of the 50-over format is decreasing day by day since the introduction of Twenty20 format and everybody is speculating for the future of 50-over format.
