1. Master Degree in Library Science / Information Science/Documentation with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC 7 points scale & consistently good academic record.
2. At least 13 years as Deputy Librarian in a University Library or 18 years experience as a University/National Institutes/College Librarian of which at least 3 years shall be as Deputy Librarian OR M.Phil/Ph.D Degree in Library Science/Information Science /Documentation/Archives & Manuscript keeping with 10 years experience as a University/National Institutes/College Librarian of which at least 3 years shall be as Deputy Librarian.

Evidence of innovation in Library services & organization of published work.
