The Talisma CampusNet team is looking for a Systems Engineer with expertise in LAMP architecture to assist in supporting and implementing our Linux based Learning Management System (LMS) for hosted customer base.
- Expertise in Linux - specifically SUSE, RedHat Create new and modify current applications utilizing PHP and other scripting languages in Linux environment utilizing databases
- Administer and maintain open source applications and multiple servers running standard distributions of Linux (SUSE)
- Manage various database technologies including MySQL and Microsoft SQL server
in a clustered and highly available configuration.
- Assist in tuning and optimizing Apache/PHP and MySQL database servers.
- Familiar with attaching and configuring servers to utilize fiber channel storage network for SAN, as well as SMB/NFS mounts
- Administer, support and maintain CampusLearning LMS systems (Moodle).
- This includes troubleshooting bugs and defects and installing patches/hot fixes.
- Familiar with virtual machine technology including VMware ESX Virtual Infrastructure 3.x.
- This is an on-call position and requires that the individual provides a means of contact 24/7/365 while assigned to the on-call rotation.
