University of Calcutta - Admission - P.G. Diploma in Media Studies: Film & Television-2009-10
Applications are invited for admission in P.G.Diploma in Media Studies in the Department of Film and Television for the session 2009-2010.
ELIGIBILITY:
Graduation in any discipline (pass/honours/vocational etc) from a recognized University. Those who have appeared for final examination and awaiting results are also eligible to apply .No age bar. .Reservation for SC/ST and physically Handicapped candidates as per rules and University norms.
APPLICATION FORMS:
Available at the C U sales counter ,Asutosh Building (Ground Floor) College Street Campus Kolkata -700073. on payment of Rs. 250 in cash from July 24 to August 24,2009
SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORMS:
Application forms, properly filled, are to be submitted at the Department of Journalism &Mass Communication, Hardinge Building(Second Floor) College Street Campus , KolKata -700073 till August 24, 2009.
TOTAL NUMBER OF SEATS: Fifty Five (55).
SELECTION:
Thirty five (35) seats are filled through written test. Such candidates are exempted from interview.
Twenty (20) Seats are filled through interview which are reserved only for candidates with Journalism & Mass communication /Film Studies/Videography as their pass/general/honours/vocational subjects at the graduation level. Applicants for this category are exempted from written test.
ADMISSION THROUGH WRITTEN TEST :
Question for the written test are set in English and are in objective in nature. Accent is put on general knowledge, current affairs, proficiency in language, reasoning .audiovisual media etc.
DISTRIBUTION OF ADMIT CARDS FOR WRITTEN TEST:
August 26& 27,2009 during office hours from office of the Department. Admit card has to be collected in person on submission of the Acknowledgement.
DATE &TIME OF WRITTEN TEST:
August 29,2009 (Saturday) at 12-30 pm (duration : not more than one and a half hours) on General Knowledge, Current Affairs , Media , Cinema, Culture etc.
VENUE: Asutosh Building, College street campus .
Candidates will need to show their admit cards before they enter the examination hall.
ADMISSION THROUGH INTERVIEW:
Twenty (20) Seats will be filled through interview. Candidates having Journalism & Mass Communication/ Film Studies /Videography as Honours /Pass/Vocational subjects at the Graduation level may apply for this category. Such application must write MS-20 on top of the application form . Otherwise they will be treated as candidates for the written test.
DISTRIBUTION OF ADMIT CARDS FOR INTERVIEW:
September 1-2 ,2009 during office hours from office of the Department. Admit card has to be collected in person on submission of the Acknowledgement.
DATE & VENUE OF INTERVIEW:
September 4, 2009 Friday at 11-30am at RITWIK HALL, Hardinge building, 4th Floor, College Street Campus.
Candidate will have to show their Admit cards and all testimonials in original at the time of interview.
NOTIFICATION OF THE LIST OF SELECTED CANDIDATES:
September 10,2009 at 3 pm on the Notice Board of the Department.
ADMISSION: September 11-15,2009(Time 11:30am to 3:30 pm) at the Department .
COMMENCEMENT OF CLASSES: Monday,September 16,2009 at 12-30 pm.
TUITION FEE:
Rs. 7,500/- Payment in full at the time of admission. Library Fee and Examination Fee separate. Tuition fee is received in the form of a single crossed Bank draft/ Banker’s Cheque drawn in favour of P.G. Diploma course in Media Studies : Film & Television, C U, payble at KolKata. Payment in any other form is not accepted.
