Saina Nehwal wins World Badminton Quarter-finals Birth

Saina Nehwal has become the first ever Indian woman to qualify for the World badminton championships quarter-finals after won a tough match against Bulgarian Petya Nedelcheva on Thursday. ( Watch Video )

Saina lost her first game with a close finish but came back strongly in the second one 18-21. Saina won the two successive games by 21-18 and 21-10.

Saina remarked that, "In the second game, it was really tough as I was leading 18-11 but she bounced back but I think I kept my cool and it paid off".

Sixth-seeded Nehwal will now clash with second-seeded Chinese Wang Lin, a 21-10, 23-21 winner over Korean Hwang Hye Youn.
