Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprises (Hand on Experience Required, Must To Have)
a. Sybase ASE 12.X and 15.X installation and configuration both on Unix as well as on Windows.
b. Open Server/Open Client Installation.
c. Connectivity between client and server
d. Initializing database and log devices.
e. Planning the Backup and Recovery policies.
f. Upgrading the Sybase ASE server.
g. Creating/altering/dropping Databases.
h. Recovery of both system databases and user databases.
i. Backup and Restore Databases/Logs
j. Setting the thresholds for Log space management and audit queues.
k. Configuring managing multiple tempdbs on the server
l. Checking database consistency periodically e.g. Weekly
m. Managing the audit services e.g. audit queues etc.
n. Running Update Statistics.
o. Trouble shooting the problems.
p. Handling day-to-day user queries and issues.
q. Migrating the databases and it’s objects.
r. Resizing of devices.
Replication Server (Must To Have)
a. Enabling, stopping, disabling the replication agent for the particular database.
b. Synchronizing the databases both on primary as well as replicate data server.
c. Recovery of both replication server system as well as user databases.
d. Creating and managing physical and logical connections.
e. Creating user on replication server.
f. Monitoring and maintaining the full Replication Server System.
g. Troubleshooting all replication issues.
Sybase IQ(Hand on Experience Required, Must To Have)
a. Installing & configuring IQ instances.
b. Trouble shooting of issues related to performance.
c. Working knowledge of multiplexes.
d. Troubleshooting dbspaces, database related issues.
e. Refreshing IQ databases.
f. Creating/modifying user permissions and troubleshooting permission issues.
